An invoice without signing up for anything

Most free invoice generators want an account, stamp a watermark on the PDF, or cap you at three invoices a month and then start asking. For somebody who sends four invoices a year, all of that is disproportionate.

Fill in your details and the client's, add line items, download a clean PDF. No account, no watermark, no subscription, and nothing uploaded — which, given an invoice contains your business details, your client's details and your rates, is the part worth noticing.

Lines, totals and tax

Each line's amount is quantity times rate, summed into a subtotal. An optional tax percentage applies on top. The tax line only appears on the PDF when the rate is above zero, so an invoice with no tax does not carry an empty row explaining that there is no tax.

Add as many lines as you need. Totals recalculate as you type.

A real bug worth repeating

The quantity field used to show a faint "1" as a placeholder. It looked like a default. It was not — a line with a rate and an untouched quantity calculated as zero, and the invoice silently came out short.

The fix was to make a blank quantity actually mean 1, which is what the placeholder had been implying all along. The general lesson stuck: placeholder text that looks like a default must behave as that default, or it is lying to the person using it.

Questions

Common questions

What does this tool do?

It lets you create a professional invoice — your details, the client's details, line items, and totals — and download it as a clean PDF. No account, no watermark, no subscription, and nothing is uploaded.

How do I make an invoice?

Fill in your name/business and the client's, set the invoice number and date, then add line items with a description, quantity, and rate. Amounts and totals calculate automatically. Click Download PDF invoice when you're done.

How do line items and totals work?

Each line's amount is quantity times rate, added up into a subtotal. Add an optional tax percentage and it's applied on top to give the final total. Add as many lines as you need with the Add line item button, or remove one with the trash icon.

Can I add sales tax?

Yes. Enter a tax percentage in the totals area and it's calculated on the subtotal and added to the total. Leave it at 0 if you don't charge tax. The tax rate and amount appear on the PDF only when it's above zero.

Does it have a watermark or require an account?

No. The PDF is clean and professional with no watermark, no sign-up, and no subscription — just a small line crediting the tool. That's the whole point: a buy-once-style free tool with no nagging.

Is my invoice data private?

Completely. Everything you type stays in your browser and the PDF is generated on your own machine. Nothing — not your details, your client's, or the amounts — is ever uploaded.
