Unit Converter
Convert length, weight, temperature, volume, and more — instantly, no ads. It runs entirely in your browser, so the file never leaves your computer.
One deep tool instead of a page per pair
Length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, data sizes and pixels, all in one place and converting as you type. The alternative — a separate ad-choked page for every possible pair of units — is how the rest of the web does this, and it is worse in every way.
Every value converts into one base unit and back out to the target, so there is a single arithmetic path per category rather than a tangle of pairwise formulas with a bug hiding in one of them. The factors were checked against 22 known values before any of the interface existed.
Temperature is not multiplication
Length and weight scale from zero, so converting is one multiplication. Temperature scales do not share a zero point, which is why multiplying Celsius by anything never gives you Fahrenheit.
The proper formulas are used, so freezing comes out at exactly 0 °C = 32 °F and boiling at exactly 100 °C = 212 °F. A converter that gets those two wrong is wrong everywhere, and some do.
The data-size question that has two right answers
Is a kilobyte 1000 bytes or 1024? Both, depending on who is counting. Drive manufacturers and network equipment use 1000. Windows reports file and disk sizes using 1024.
This is why a "1 TB" drive shows up as about 931 GB in Windows — nothing is missing, the two are counting differently. There is a decimal/binary toggle here so you get the number your situation actually calls for, which is a quiet correctness difference where sloppy converters are simply wrong.
Pixels work on the same principle: a pixel has no fixed physical size, so set the DPI to match your context. 96 is standard for screens, 300 for print.
Questions
Common questions
What does this tool do?
It converts between units across many categories — length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, data sizes, and pixels — instantly as you type. No ads, no popups, nothing uploaded.
How do I use it?
Pick a category at the top (Length, Weight, Temperature, and so on), enter a value, and choose the units to convert from and to. The answer appears instantly. The swap button flips the two units, and the common-conversions chips jump straight to popular pairs.
How accurate are the conversions?
They use exact standard conversion factors, so the results are precise. Temperature uses the proper formulas (not a simple multiplication), so freezing point (0 C = 32 F) and boiling point (100 C = 212 F) come out exactly right.
What's the difference between the decimal and binary data modes?
For data sizes it matters how a kilobyte is counted. Decimal means 1 KB = 1000 bytes, which is how drive and network makers count. Binary means 1 KB = 1024 bytes, which is how Windows reports file and disk sizes. Switch between them with the Data base toggle so you get the number you actually need.
How does the pixels / DPI conversion work?
Pixels aren't a fixed physical size — they depend on resolution (DPI, dots per inch). Set the DPI to match your context and the tool converts between pixels and real-world units like inches and centimeters. The default 96 DPI is standard for most computer screens; print work often uses 300.
Can I control the number of decimal places?
Yes. The Decimals selector lets you pick 2, 4, or 6 places, or 'auto' which shows a sensible amount and switches to scientific notation for very small numbers. Fewer decimals are handy for quick checks; more help for engineering or scientific work.
Is it really ad-free and private?
Yes. The whole point is a clean, instant converter with no ads, no popups, and no tracking. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
