One file, and it is the whole program. The download is an .html file that opens in your browser — save it somewhere you’ll find it again and it keeps working with no internet, forever. Download this tool ↓

One tool instead of nine

PNG to JPG, JPG to PNG, PNG to WebP, WebP to PNG — these are the same operation with different endpoints, and the web is full of a separate ad-wrapped page for each one. This handles any direction, in a batch, with your files never leaving the machine.

Drop in a mixed pile, pick what you want out, and take the lot as a zip.

The black background nobody warns you about

JPG cannot store transparency. Convert a PNG logo with a clear background to JPG and those pixels have to become something — and the something is usually black, which is how people end up with a logo sitting in a dark rectangle.

There is a background colour picker here for exactly that. Set it to white, or to whatever the logo will actually sit on, before you convert. Or pick PNG as the output and keep the transparency.

One browser-specific catch

Writing WebP works in Chrome and Edge. Firefox and Safari cannot create WebP files — and the unhelpful part is that some converters let you ask anyway and hand you PNG bytes with a .webp name on them.

This tool probes what your browser can actually write and disables the options it cannot, then verifies the output type before saving. You will never get a file whose name lies about its contents.

Questions

Common questions

What does this tool do?

It converts images between the common formats — PNG, JPG, and WEBP — and can handle a batch of mixed images at once. Useful when something needs a specific format you don't have.

How do I convert images?

Drop one or more images onto the page, pick the format you want them in, and download the results — individually or all together as a zip.

What's the quality slider for?

For lossy formats like JPG and WEBP, the slider trades file size against image quality. Higher keeps more detail and a larger file; lower makes a smaller file. Around 90% is a good balance for photos.

Why does my JPG have a black background where it used to be transparent?

JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas have to be filled with a solid color. Use the background color picker to choose what fills them — white is usually what you want — instead of the default black.

WEBP isn't working — why?

Saving WEBP works in Chrome and Edge, but Firefox and Safari can't create WEBP files. If you're in one of those, the tool disables WEBP output and suggests switching to Chrome or Edge, so you never get a mislabeled file.

Is my image private?

Yes. All converting happens on your own computer in the browser — nothing is uploaded. That's a real difference from the ad-heavy converter sites that send your photos to their servers.
