Why a bare part number fails

Type a part number into a search engine and it helpfully assumes you might have wanted a different one. It matches near-misses, drops characters it reads as noise, and buries the actual listing under aggregator pages that scraped the number and stock nothing.

This wraps the number in quotes to force an exact match and adds the terms that push real listings up — the query an experienced buyer would type, constructed for you every time.

What it deliberately does not do

Most search helpers improve results by restricting them to a list of known-good sites. For part numbers that is exactly wrong: the hard-to-find part is, by definition, stocked by somewhere you have not heard of.

So there is no site-push here. The exclusions only remove noise — social and forum pages, overseas bulk marketplaces, used and auction listings — and you turn on only the ones you want gone. A small supplier with a thin website can still surface, which is the entire point.

Where the query goes

The search is built on your machine. Running it necessarily sends it to whichever engine you chose — Google, Bing or DuckDuckGo — which has its own policies.

What this tool does not do is keep a record. There is no account, no history and nothing logged on our side, because there is no our side.

Questions

Common questions

What does this tool do?

It builds a sharper web search for a specific part number — forcing an exact match and stripping out the usual clutter — then runs it in your chosen search engine. It finds the listing instead of letting the engine swap in 'similar' parts.

How do I use it?

Type the part number, optionally add a brand or category, pick what you're after (buy, specs, or a manual), and click Search. It opens a well-built search in your browser.

Why is this better than just typing the part number into Google?

A raw part number lets the engine substitute similar parts and bury the real listing under SEO pages. This wraps the number in quotes to force an exact match and adds terms that push real listings up — the query an expert would type, built for you every time.

What do the 'cut the clutter' options do?

They remove noisy results — social and forum pages, overseas bulk marketplaces, and used/auction listings — so genuine sources rise to the top. You turn on only the ones you want excluded.

Does it search obscure or hard-to-find parts well?

Yes — that's the point. It deliberately doesn't limit results to big-name sites, so a part stocked by a small or unusual supplier can still surface. It only removes clutter, never narrows where real results can come from.

Does it track my searches?

No. The tool builds the search on your own computer and doesn't track what you look for. (The search itself runs in whatever engine you pick — Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo — which has its own policies.)
