SVG to PNG Converter
Turn a scalable SVG into a regular PNG image at any size. It runs entirely in your browser, so the file never leaves your computer.
Going the unglamorous direction
SVG is the better format and it still gets refused everywhere. Upload forms, older design software, print shops, email clients, marketplace listings, slide decks — plenty of them want a PNG and will not discuss it.
Since an SVG has no fixed size, you pick one here. The 1×, 2×, 4× and 8× multipliers scale from the SVG's own dimensions, and because the source is vector every one of them is perfectly sharp. There is no quality cost to asking for 8×, only file size.
Which size to ask for
For a screen, 1× or 2× is plenty — 2× covers high-density displays. For print, go higher: 4× or 8× from a logo-sized SVG lands in the range a printer wants.
If the SVG has no explicit width and height, the tool reads its viewBox instead and scales from that. Either way the multiplier applies to a real base size rather than a guess.
Backgrounds, and pasted code
PNG supports transparency, so by default anything see-through in the SVG stays see-through. Switch to a solid colour when you need the logo sitting on white rather than on whatever is behind it.
Pasting SVG code works, but it has to be the complete markup — opening <svg> through closing </svg>. A partial copy, or one that passed through something that altered the characters, will not parse. Dropping the file in sidesteps that entirely.
Questions
Common questions
What does this tool do?
It converts an SVG (a scalable vector image) into a PNG (a regular pixel image) at whatever size you choose. Handy because many programs and websites can't use SVG files but accept PNG everywhere.
How do I convert an SVG?
Drop an SVG file onto the page, or paste the SVG code into the box. Pick an output size, then click Convert to PNG. A preview appears, and you can download the PNG.
What do the size multipliers (1×, 2×, 4×, 8×) mean?
They scale the PNG up from the SVG's natural size. Because SVG is vector, scaling up stays perfectly sharp — so 2× doubles the width and height, 4× quadruples them, and so on. Use a higher multiplier when you need a big, crisp image (for print, a banner, or a high-resolution screen).
What's the difference between transparent and solid background?
PNG supports transparency, so by default any see-through areas of your SVG stay transparent. If you'd rather fill those areas with a color (for example a white background behind a logo), switch to Solid color and pick the color.
It says my SVG code isn't valid — what's wrong?
The tool needs the complete SVG markup, starting with an opening <svg ...> tag and ending with </svg>. If you pasted only part of it, or copied it from somewhere that altered the characters, it may not parse. Dropping the .svg file instead avoids copy-paste issues.
How is the output size decided?
The tool reads the SVG's own width and height. If the SVG only has a viewBox and no explicit size, it uses the viewBox dimensions. That base size is then multiplied by the scale you pick.
How do I start over?
The Reset button clears the loaded SVG and the result, and returns the size, background, and color to their defaults — handy when you've finished one image and want a clean slate for the next.
Is my image private?
Completely. The SVG is rendered to a PNG entirely inside your browser — nothing is uploaded, and your image never leaves your computer.
