We make the videos.
We make the software too.

The paper-cutout animations are built here, in-house, with tools we wrote ourselves because nothing off the shelf did the job. That is the actual business: software. The videos are what happens when you point it at something fun.

Forty-five of them. Nothing to install, nothing to pay, nothing uploaded anywhere.

Forty-five tools that run in your browser

Every one of them is a single file that works on your own machine. Your pictures, PDFs and documents are never sent to a server, because there is no server. Open one, use it, close the tab. No account, no ads, no watermark on the way out.

How the videos get made

Cut paper, moved by software

Each scene starts as flat shapes with torn edges, the way a cutout would actually sit on a table. They get laid out, coloured, and moved by a program written for the purpose — scripting the shots, generating the art, laying the audio bed underneath, and rendering the lot.

None of it is a subscription to anything. That is not a marketing position, it is just how we build: the tool runs on one computer, the files stay on it, and when it is finished it keeps working whether or not anybody pays a renewal.

That is the same rule behind everything else on this site.

A paper-cutout animation frame: a young player in a ROOKIE jersey standing before a stadium gate, with the silhouettes of past players behind him.

A frame from one of the animations.

If you want the tool

It isn’t for sale. It might be.

The program that makes these was built for one person to use, which is a very different thing from a program other people can buy. There is no release date because there is no release plan.

If that changes, the people on this list are the ones who get told. That is the only thing it is for — one email, if and when there is something to say, and nothing at all if there never is.

No newsletter, no “just checking in”, and your address goes nowhere near a mailing-list company. The privacy page says the same thing somewhere other than the page asking for your email.

And the thing we actually sell

Lickety is voice typing for Windows. Hold a key, say the sentence, and the words land in whatever window you were already in. It runs on your own PC — no account, no upload, nothing to renew.
