Why these in particular run locally
The developer tools are the ones where "nothing is uploaded" stops being a nice principle and becomes the reason to use them at all.
The things people paste into a JSON formatter, a Base64 decoder or a hash tool are access tokens, config fragments, API responses, private keys and customer data. A good number of the free online versions are ad-funded, and some log what arrives. Pasting a JWT into one to see what is inside it is a small act with a long tail.
Every tool here does its work in your browser. You can verify that by disconnecting the network and watching them carry on working.
One file, no build, no dependencies
Each of these is a single HTML file with nothing fetched at runtime. That is partly a privacy property and partly a practical one: it will still work in five years, on a locked-down machine, with no internet, long after whichever framework was fashionable has moved on twice.
It also means you can keep one. Download it and it is yours — no account to lapse, no service to shut down.
Our own software
Dictate it instead of typing it
Hold a key, say the sentence, and the words land in whatever Windows window you were already in. Runs on your own PC — no account, no upload, nothing to renew.
